Alfonso J. Barbati, D.O. is board certified with the Pennsylvania State Board of Osteopathic Medicine, the National Board of Examiners for Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine and the American Osteopathic Board of Gastroenterology.
Dr. Barbati received his degree in osteopathic medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicne, Philadelphia, PA. He served his residency in internal medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine, Kennedy Memorial Hospitals, University Medical Center, Statford, New Jersey. He completed his Fellowship and served as chief fellow in gastroenterology at the same facility.
His fellowship and postgraduate training appointments include The Graduate Hospital, University of Pennsylvania School on Medicine, Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia, and the Atlantic City Medical Center, Atlantic City, NJ.
In addition to writing on the topics of motor neuron disease, carcinoid tumors, and Crohn's disease, Dr. Barbati is a member of numerous professional societies, including the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopists. He is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Internists.
Dr. Barbati is currently on staff at the Waterfront Surgery Center in Homestead, PA as well as Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Clairton, PA.
