Dr. Kumar received his undergraduate degree in India and his medical degree from Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi, India. After relocating to the United States, he then completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Cleveland Metropolitan Hospital in Ohio then to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where he completed his fellowships in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Dr. Kumar also attended the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Australia where he trained in therapeutic ERCP and was a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Indiana University Medical Center.
Dr. Kumar is board cerified in Internal Medicine and in Gastroenterology. He is currently a member of the American College of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy,the Pennsylvania Medical Society and the American College of Gastroenterology.
Dr. Kumar is on staff at the Waterfront, Homestead, PA as well as being on staff at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Clairton, PA.
